Donald Buckley, former Chief Marketing Officer at Showtime, joins the Helios Advisory Board

Today, Don acts as an advisor to several start-ups, including Media and Entertainment Advisor for the Open Voice Network, which helps to create and shape standards for artificial intelligence-enabled voice (Voice AI), and serves as Board Member of the Experience Center of the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB). In addition to his advisory positions, Don is a member of the Academy Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences and Guest Lecturer at NYU Tisch School of the Arts.
Don began his career with Warner Bros. Pictures where he worked for more than 20 years. As Senior Vice President, Interactive Marketing, Don founded the studio’s first digital marketing team and developed cutting-edge strategic tactics across original digital content production, design, technology, creative advertising, podcasting, promotion, and public relations. Don also co-founded Warner Bros. Online, now known as Warner Bros. Advanced Digital Services. In addition to his role as SVP of Interactive Marketing, Don also headed the organization’s New York offices and was studio liaison to Time Warner Investments.
From 2008 to 2010, Don founded and grew THA.i – a full-service digital marketing and experience agency with clients such as IMAX, Focus Features, CBS Films, Warner Bros., and Universal Studios. After two years of developing his own company, Don moved on to become CMO of Showtime Networks, Inc.
At Showtime, Don oversaw the network’s marketing, creative advertising, and digital media divisions, including consumer marketing, promotions, media, CRM/analytics, and the day-to-day operations for Showtime Networks' digital platform marketing, broadband, mobile, emerging platform initiatives, and multiplatform content. Don was with Showtime Networks during a period of dramatic change in the entertainment business and managed to strategize and innovate, successfully leading the brand into new frontiers. He led and built the cross-disciplinary marketing organization that launched Showtime's OTT streaming product, driving subs beyond launch projections.
In 2019, Don left Showtime and established Treehouse Consulting, LLC, whose clients include companies in the movie, streaming TV, research, virtual events, mobile gaming, commerce, and voice technology fields.
